Sitka Legacy Foundation (SLF) is excited to announce a special, one-time grant opportunity aimed at strengthening food security in our community. A total of $15,000 in funding is available to support projects that increase access to healthy, local food. This opportunity is made possible through a generous double match from the Alaska Community Foundation’s Nourished Communities program.
What This Grant Supports
SLF is seeking proposals for projects that:
- Increase the local production of food, and/or
- Distribute food to individuals or families experiencing need.
Whether you’re growing food, gathering it, teaching others, or helping distribute it to households, we encourage you to apply.
Who Is Eligible
Applicants must be one of the following:
- Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status or projects with fiscal sponsorship from a nonprofit with this status
- Tribal entities
- Municipal government
- Public schools
- Faith-based organizations
SLF anticipates awarding five grants, averaging $3,000 each.
