Sitka Legacy Foundation (SLF), an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), is pleased to announce that its 2021 grants program will be open from Monday, August 16 to Friday, September 24, 2021. Eligible applicants may request grants of up to $5,000. Typical grants have historically been in the range of $1,000.
Applications will be accepted from qualified, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations, Tribal entities, local governments, schools, and faith-based organizations that support charitable programs in Sitka and on Baranof Island. Grants may support a broad range of community needs, including but not limited to health and wellness, education, arts and culture, conservation, and community development. Applications for pandemic-related needs are especially encouraged.
Grant projects must be completed within one year of award and are subject to the grantee completing an online grant agreement signifying acceptance of the terms and conditions of the grant. A final grant report must also be submitted online by the assigned due date. Due dates and the forms to submit for these follow-ups can be found by logging into the online grant system.
Grant applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM AKST on Friday, September 24, 2021, using the ACF online grant application system. For the application to be considered, any overdue grant reports or other follow-ups for previous grant awards from SLF and/or ACF must also be submitted via the online grant system prior to the deadline.
