The Sitka Legacy Foundation, an affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation (ACF), is excited to announce that applications for our 2025 competitive grant cycle will open Monday, August 25, 2025, with a submission deadline of 5:00 PM AKST, Monday, September 22, 2025. Eligible applicants may request grants of up to $5,000.
This year, priority will be given to addressing challenges created by loss of federal funding. Sitka Legacy Foundation’s 2025 grant cycle focuses on meeting basic needs—food, housing, health, and safety, and encouraging creative, collaborative ideas that address service gaps and create a more resilient future. We’re seeking proposals that go beyond temporary fixes and explore new ways of working together, sharing resources, and strengthening our systems. We encourage grant seekers to think beyond stopgaps and consider:
- What could a better system look like?
- How can we work collectively to close the gaps left by reduced federal support?
Even in uncertainty, there is opportunity. Let’s meet this moment with creativity, courage, and a shared commitment to care for our community in lasting ways.
Grant projects must be completed within one year of award and are subject to the grantee completing an online grant agreement signifying acceptance of the terms and conditions of the grant. A final grant report must also be submitted online by the assigned due date. Due dates and the forms to submit for these follow-ups can be found by logging into the online grant system.
Grant applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM AKST on Monday, September 22, 2025, using the ACF online grant application system. For the application to be considered, any overdue grant reports or other follow-ups for previous grant awards from SLF and/or ACF must also be submitted via the online grant system prior to the deadline.
